Rat Surface Coil with Holder

Designed around a 4.7T 1.5" surface coil, this setup is designed to provide a complete solution for high-resolution imaging and functional studies of rat brains. The fMRI compatible holder provides adjustable ear inserts and a bite bar to provide good head immobilization while an adjustable clamp holds the high SNR coil firmly in place. The entire apparatus allows relatively unrestricted access to the rat's head and body for additional experimental apparatus.

Additional features of the design allow for a large transmit coil to be incorporated into the base to allow the 1.5" coil to be used in receive-only mode.
